The Ames man who was struck by a car while jogging on Cameron School Road early Monday morning has died from his injuries.

Robert Murphy Rothaug, 27, of Rural Route #4 in Ames, died at 11:45 Wednesday night at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Rothaug was jogging west in the eastbound lane against traffic when he was struck by an eastbound car driven by Darrell Wayne Christianson of Boone.

Rothaug was transported to Mary Greeley Hospital. He was flown by Mercy Air-Life Helicopter to Methodist.

Story County Sheriff’s officials said that no charges will be filed.

Christianson said blowing snow prevented him from seeing Rothaug.
