The weather in Iowa City, Iowa, this morning was less than ideal conditions for the golfers in the Hawkeye Invitational. The weather was so poor that the tournament was reduced to 36 holes instead of the scheduled 54-hole tournament.
Iowa State finished the two round tournament taking first place beating out ranked competitors in the process. The Cyclones scored (280-303=583) in the tournament ahead of in state rival Iowa by a single stroke. Michigan State and Kansas are two teams that are nationally ranked by Golfstat, but tied for fourth in the Hawkeye Invitational this weekend.

Denzel Ieremia moved down slightly on the individual leaderboard, but still maintained fourth place overall. Ieremia shot two under leaving him with a score of 142 (67-75).
Shortly after Ieremia is Tripp Kinney and Lachlan Barker. They both tied for sixth place shooting two over par.
With the Cyclones showing consistent progress, they possess great momentum going into the Big 12 Championship. The contest is on April 23 to April 25 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
