Cross Country Regionals

Senior Perez Rotich paces herself before the finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 15, 2013 at the ISU Cross-Country Course.

Like much of the 2015 women's cross-country season, Senior Perez Rotich and redshirt junior Erin Hooker led the way for Iowa State on Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational.

Rotich and Hooker finished 10th and 41st, respectively, in a 15th-place team effort for the Cyclones among 34 other competitors.

Aside from the duo, redshirt sophomore Evelyne Guay was the only other Iowa State competitor at the Griak Invitational who ran in meets for the team last season. Guay finished third on the team and 81st overall.

The remaining four Iowa State runners who competed Saturday were all freshmen or redshirt freshmen who made their debuts three weeks ago at the Hawkeye Early Bird Invitational.

Megan Schott, Jasmine Staebler, Erinn Stanman-Fahey and Gwynne Wright placed 155th, 183rd, 210th and 212th, respectively.
