Competing against 17 of the top 30 teams in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll, the ISU women's cross-country team finished eighth at Friday’s Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational.

Redshirt junior Erin Hooker led the way for the Cyclones, placing 14th overall. She finished 10 spots higher than she did at last year's Wisconsin Invitational.

Rounding out the team's scoring effort, Perez Rotich finished 51st, Annie Frisbie finished 53rd, Bethanie Brown finished 87th and Evelyne Guay finished 104th.

Frisbie and Brown both made their season debuts.

No. 4 Washington won the invitational, followed by No. 3 North Carolina State in second and No. 1 Providence in third.

The Cyclones will be back in action at the Big 12 Championships on Oct. 29 in Lubbock, Texas.
