The Iowa State Cyclones (4-3, 1-0 Big 12) bested the Omaha Mavericks (2-4, 1-0 Summit) by a score of 153-68 on Friday evening in Omaha, Nebraska.

The relay squad of Emily Haan, Martha Haas, Elynn Tan and Anna Andersen won the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 3:53.79 to begin the night. Their time was over 10 seconds faster than the Omaha squad.

Following that event, Lucia Rizzo in the 1000 freestyle (10:39.64), Haley Ruegemer in the 200 freestyle (1:55.97), Anna Andersen in the 50 freestyle (24.54) and Kami Pankratz in the 200 Individual Medley (2:11.54) put together victories to put the Cyclones’ win streak at five heading into the diving break.

In the diving well, the Cyclones were not as sharp as they have been; however, Dana Liva still managed to win the three-meter with a score of 269.70, and Sydney Ronald took second in the one-meter competition with a score of 253.58.

Rizzo and Ruegemer picked up right where they left off after the break as they earned their second victories in the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle, respectively.

Emma Ruehle continued the Cyclones’ dominance of the Mavericks as she won the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.21.

The Cyclones finished strong as the trio of Lehr Thorson, Bryn Ericksen, and Haas combined to sweep the 100 breaststroke (59.21) and the 400 relay team (3:32.43) won handily as well.

This was the first competition that Iowa State had seen since the December 7th showdown that ended in a loss against the rival Hawkeyes. That said, it was understandable for some of the team's numbers to slip.

In total, Iowa State won 11 of the 13 events in the one-sided victory.

The Cyclones will compete against the Northern Iowa Panthers tomorrow, with the first splash occurring at 1 p.m.
