Head coach Steve Prohm yells at his team during the fourth quarter of Iowa State's senior night game against Oklahoma State on Feb. 27 in Hilton Coliseum. The Cowboys defeated the Cyclones 80-71.

On Tuesday, former Penn State guard Rasir Bolton committed to Iowa State, rounding out the Cyclones’ last available roster spot for the upcoming 2019-20 season. Bolton played last season as a true freshman and will have three eligible seasons to play at Iowa State.

Bolton  a three star recruit out of high school  averaged 11.9 points, three rebounds and 1.5 assists a game for the Nittany Lions in his freshman year. His point total ranked second on the team behind junior forward Lamar Stevens, who averaged 19.9 points per game.

From the floor, Bolton shot 38.3%, and he shot 36.1% from three.

Bolton is listed as Six-foot-two-inches and 180 pounds.

Last year, Bolton was one of two other freshman guards to suit up for more than 100 minutes during the season on a Penn State squad which finished the season 14-18 overall (7-13 Big 10).

Myreon Jones averaged 3.4 points and .9 rebounds a game, but Myles Dread averaged 8.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Dread is the team’s seventh highest basketball recruit according to 247 Sports.

Bolton played 32 games and started nine while Dread played 32 games and started 28.

Dread shot 37.8% from the floor and 35.6% from three while registering the same amount of assists, but he only committed 25 turnovers to Boltons 83, which was the second most on the team.

After the 2018-19 season, Iowa State lost Nick Weiler-Babb, Zoran Talley and Marial Shayok to graduation and Talen Horton-Tucker, Lindell-Wigginton and Cameron Lard to early entry to the NBA Draft. Those players accounted for 69.7% of the teams points last season.

If Bolton is able to play in his first season, he will be able to provide a scoring spark for the Cyclones.

Bolton joins Javan Johnson, who transfered from Troy, as the two transfers in the Cyclones’ 2019 recruiting class.

Rasir Bolton has been committed to the Lowa State and thus all roster spots have been filled. This young man who has been chosen from the actual casino bonus coupons team is very talented. I am expecting some better results from him.
