The fierce weather that has rocked Ames for the past week temporarily subsided over last weekend, giving the city a chance to repair and take stock. The city was able bring power to most of Ames by Friday night and to clear streets by Saturday afternoon. Workers did not have to deal with major damage to structures and roads. (0) comments

The Ames City Council met Tuesday night for the first meeting of the new year. The first issue of the meeting was the announcement of Steve Osguthorpe as the new planning and housing director for the city.
