State of Iowa starts legal recognition of same-sex marriage

Daily Staff Monday is the first day the state of Iowa will legally recognize same-sex marriage since the April 3 Iowa Supreme Court ruling. Iowa becomes the third state to allow same-sex couples to marry, following Massachusetts and Connecticut. Vermont passed similar legislation, which will take effect in September.
