The ISU men's basketball team landed a highly sought power forward for its first commitment for the 2007 recruiting class.

Craig Brackins, a 6'9", 215-pound power forward, verbally committed to Iowa State, although he was also considering such teams as Indiana, Pittsburgh, Clemson and Washington.

Brackins, the No. 37 recruit of the 2007 class, according to Rivals.com, could be just what the Cyclones need from the big man in the middle in 2007 after the departure of six players this season.

ISU coach Greg McDermott, who has been criticized for his lack of national recruiting, landed Brackins - originally from Lancaster California - from Boys To Men Academy in Chicago.
