Allen leaves for University of Northern Iowa, Geoffroy selects new interim vice president

Susan Carlson, associate provost for faculty advancement and diversity and professor of English, is to serve as interim vice president for academic affairs and provost as of June 1.
Carlson was chosen by ISU President Gregory Geoffroy to succeed Benjamin Allen, provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Allen will leave Iowa State to become the next president of the University of Northern Iowa.
Geoffroy also announced a search committee to find a permanent executive vice president and provost, the new title for the position.
Geoffroy said he hopes the committee will have found a replacement for Allen before Thanksgiving.
