Men's Cross-Country Stock

Iowa State runners compete at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Lubbock, Texas, on Oct. 30, 2016. Iowa State took second place.

The Iowa State men's cross country team finished in fourth place in the men's regional meet. The Cyclones failed to finish in the top two places, and did not get an automatic bid to the National meet.

The men posted good times from some of their top runners, Thomas Pollard being the first to finish. Pollard was the eighth runner to cross the finish line with a time of 30:31. The other Cyclones finished with times no greater than 32 minutes.

Kevyn Hoyos was the second Cyclone posting a time of 30:46. There was a two second gap between him and Josef Andrews, who ended up in 21st place.

Pollard, Hoyos and Andrews were also named All-Midwest Region runners.

The team is still waiting to see if they qualify for Nationals. That announcement will come Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
